Yogi

Software Technician

From a young age Yogi loved computers – but it wasn’t until he was a teenager that he realised you could make a career out of them. “The first thing I ever made was a one-page website about myself for my IT lesson. From then, I knew that I wanted to work with software.”

Yogi went on to set up his own software agency in 2012 at the age of 16, Finest Design. The agency specialises in creating the backend (coding) for websites and online presences for businesses around the world. He now runs it part-time while he studies for a BSc in Software Engineering at university.

Running your own business can be a lot of pressure, but that’s what Yogi thrives off. In fact, he finds that it brings the best out of him. “I love being my own boss. Working for myself allows me to have a control that I really value.”

Recently he has decided to start branching out into apps, which is where he sees the future for his company. He’s busy designing his first public app for outdoor activities enthusiasts.

He hopes to grow his business further and he’s ready for the challenge of taking it full-time. “I love that I’ve managed to get the skills whilst running my own business, but it’s also great to know that from here I could get a job anywhere!”
